The primary objective of outreach for the Center for the Study of Global Change is to serve as a resource base on international issues, to meet the needs of PreK-12 teachers, post-secondary educators, business professionals, government officials, media representatives, and the general public at local, state, and national levels. The Global Center encourages the dissemination of information about and enhancement of relations among the U.S. and other parts of the world, focusing particularly on global and inter-regional issues, problems, and solutions. In support of its NRC mission, the Global Center funds and facilitates workshops, speakers, library acquisitions, visiting scholars, conferences, technological innovation, curriculum development, and graduate fellowships. In addition, the Global Center participates in a wide variety of local, state, regional, and national conferences and gatherings, each time bringing a global perspective to the content and activities.

• Bridges: Children, Languages, World — Provides PreK-8 world language instruction (Arabic, Chinese, Dari, Mongolian, Russian, Swahili, Zulu) in community settings throughout Monroe County, Indiana
   
• Deliberation: Integrating International and Civic Education — Teaches educators how to use deliberation while teaching international issues in the classroom (check back for more information)
   
• Global Grants Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) — Provides MCCSC educators with funds to facilitate integration of international content, skills, and attitudes into their class curriculum.
   
• Global Issues Community Discussion Series — Offers a series of community discussions focusing on different global issues and, in particular, how they relate to life in Bloomington, IN
   
• Global Speakers Service (GSS) — Provides speakers to schools and surrounding communities to enhance knowledge of international topics and activities
   
• International Festival of Indiana — Provides an opportunity for Central Indiana students and the public to experience many world cultures without travelling farther than Indianapolis
   
• International Studies In Schools (ISIS) - Videoconferencing Project — Provides interactive video technology to connect K-12 schools and community groups across the U.S. with Indiana University international students, scholars, and specialists
   
• Internationalizing the Academic Standards: Indiana — Provides teachers with suggestions for ways to integrate international content while teaching the academic standards
   
• Lotus Blossoms, Children's Bazaar, and Community Bazaar — Provides an educational program to nurture children's curiosity about other cultures by bringing artist-educators into southern-Indiana schools from across America and around the world
   
• Lotus World Music and Arts Festival - Indiana University Global Education Pavilion — This annual four-day extravaganza provides live musical and movement performances by individuals and groups from across the globe; the Pavilion is a venue in which the public can learn to play instruments and generate the music of many cultures
   
• Many Faces of Human Trafficking — A Web site on a broad yet practical agenda focusing on solutions, based on its diverse disciplinary perspectives on human behavior, legal issues, global economics, as well as trafficking itself
   
• New Tech Global Issues All-School Project — A cross-curricular all-school project designed for New Tech High School students that focuses on a major global issue
   
• Outstanding International History Award — A special award, given at the Indiana state competition of National History Day, that encourages students to examine historical events and issues in an international context
   
• STARTALK — A scholarship project for graduates or undergraduates or in-service teachers, designed to train instructors in methods of teaching less commonly taught languages to young learners (Pre-K to grade 6) in community settings
   
• TeachGlobalEd — A Web site of K-12 curriculum resources to assist in teaching and learning about the world and compiled at The Ohio State University
   
• Voices and Visions: Islam and Muslims from a Global Perspective — A Web site promoting intercultural dialogue and understanding between Muslims and Non-Muslims
