In order to deepen the internationalization of Indiana University, the Center for the Study of Global Change provides funding to the faculty and graduate students of Indiana University, as well as others, to promote, facilitate, and encourage teaching, learning, research, and service that is global in scope. To this end, the Global Center provides funding opportunities for faculty to develop and/or revise courses that promote global content and learning, that use interactive technologies to facilitate international dialogues, and for international content courses taught in a foreign language. The Global Center also funds faculty study groups that explore issues of global concern, hosts visiting scholars that contribute to the international identity of Indiana University, and provides travel grants to support global research. Further, the Center for the Study of Global Change administers the Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships that provide scholarships for graduate students who require foreign language instruction to further their academic programs and research that are global in scope.
