Graham Pike is Dean of International Education at the Vancouver Island University, BC, Canada. Formerly, he was Dean of Education at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) and Co-Director of the International Institute for Global Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. He holds a BA degree in Sociology, a graduate teaching certificate, an MA in Comparative Education and a PhD in Educational Studies. At UPEI, he taught global and international education to BEd. and graduate students; he also co-ordinated a Specialization in International Education, a unique program that prepares pre-service teachers to teach with a global perspective and provides opportunities for practice teaching placements in many parts of the world.

Graham has directed many projects in environmental education, global education and human rights education, in partnership with charitable foundations, business corporations, government agencies and non-governmental organizations. His work as a consultant in global education has taken him to more than twenty countries around the world, including substantial work for UNICEF on quality improvement projects in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. He has written extensively on global education, including ten co-authored books for teachers. Several of these books have been translated into a total of eight languages. His current scholarly work is in the areas of global education, citizenship education, international education and education for sustainable development. He is a visiting professor at Indiana University's Center for the Study of Global Change and the recipient of the 2006 Innovation in International Education Award, given by the Canadian Bureau for International Education.
