LET'S CELEBRATE (It's a Global Party! Holidays Around the World)
(November/December 2008)

FACES: People, Places, and Cultures is a Cobblestone publication for children ages 9 and older and a 2007 Parents' Choice Silver Honor Winner. This issue, LET'S CELEBRATE (It's a Global Party! Holidays Around the World), edited by Global Center Assistant Director, Deborah Hutton, focused on explaining globalization.

The Cobblestone Web site writes:

"Whether celebrated for just a day or for months, holidays are an important part of our lives. Learn about ancient festivals such as Sri Lanka's Perahera, Ramadan, and Easter. See how Christmas is celebrated around the world, enter our poetry contest, and take a trip to Mongolia's Naadam Festival. From Afghanistan to Vietnam, you'll partake in celebrations both sacred and secular throughout our November/December issue."
