The American Forum for Global Education is a private, not-for-profit organization, founded in 1970 to promote the education of American youth for responsible citizenship in an increasingly interdependent and rapidly changing world. For more than thirty years, the American Forum has been nationally recognized for providing leadership and assistance to school systems, state departments of education, and colleges and universities by initiating hundreds of programs for both students and teachers. It has also developed educational materials and publications which are focused on giving young Americans a global perspective as an accepted part of their educational background. It is the goal of the American Forum that young Americans achieve an understanding of global issues, of cultural differences and similarities, and of the connections which exist in their daily lives between their actions - and those of their country - and others taking place in all parts of the globe, from East to West and North to South.
At the invitation of the American Forum, its educational materials are made available here free of charge. These materials include topical supplementary curriculum units, as well as unique, historical documents.
