Global & International Education Archive

The Center for the Study of Global Change, in collaboration with the Indiana University Archives, is pleased to announce the creation of the Global and International Education Archive (GIEA) in spring 2008, to preserve and make available to scholars and the public this important body of educational material. The first two collections, currently being catalogued and archived, are from The American Forum for Global Education and from the Council of Chief State School Officers.

We seek related collections from both individuals and organizations. All materials will be made available at Indiana University Bloomington, in the Archives Reading Room of the Wells Library, with 24 hours' notice. As time and copyright permit, many of the items in this archive will be digitally accessible on the Global Center Web site.

The Global Center and the IU Archives would like to recognize the important roles of Andrew Smith, President of The American Forum for Global Education, and Fred Czarra, immediate past Director of International Education, Council of Chief State School Officers, in the establishment of this archive. In addition, we would like to thank the staff of the Center for Social Studies and International Education (formerly the Social Studies Development Center), of the Indiana University School of Education, for their support and use of their facilities in the initial stages of this archive.

If you have questions or comments, please contact Deb Hutton at huttond@indiana.edu.
