Beth Buggenhagen is an assistant professor of sociocultural anthropology at Indiana University, Bloomington. Her research interests include circulation and value; diaspora and transnationalism; neoliberal global capital; gender; Islam and visuality. She is currently working on a book manuscript, "Prophets and Profits: Gender and Islam in Global Senegal," on the global circuits of Senegalese Muslims and the politics of social production.
