Timothy Hellwig is a political scientist with research and teaching interests in comparative political economy, political behavior, European politics, and research methods. His work on these areas has appeared in several journals. He is currently working on a book manuscript, Globalization and Mass Politics: Retaining the Room to Maneuver (Cambridge University Press), which is based on findings from an NSF grant on globalization and mass politics. Tim also presently serves as Director of IU's Institute for European Studies. He holds a BA from St. Cloud State University, an MA from American University, and a PhD from the University of Minnesota. Before coming to IU, he was a researcher at the International Foundation for Election Systems, on the faculty at the University of Houston, and a visiting researcher at the University of Essex and at Gothenburg University.
