Ellen Prusinski is research assistant at the Global Center. A PhD candidate in the School of Education, Ellen concentrates in Comparative and International Education Policy. Her personal research interests center on migration, non-formal education, and gender. She recently completed her dissertation research in Central Java, Indonesia, where she examined the educational messages and practices surrounding women’s transnational migration. Her work in international education has included conducting surveys in Indonesian elementary schools, teaching in a Chinese middle school, and directing a literacy program for recent immigrants to Chicago.
