GPSG Budget

GPSG Budget Timeline

  • GPSG’s fiscal year runs from July 1- June 30.
  • GPSG’s exact revenue is determined each September after the finalization of fall enrollment. This is due to the fact that GPSG is largely funded by a portion of Indiana University mandatory student fees ($1.14 per undergraduate and graduate student each semester as of 2016-2017). GPSG also annually receives a $6,000 grant from the University Graduate School to be used exclusively for academic support.
  • Each fall, the GPSG Treasurer meets with members of the GPSG Executive Committee to discuss budget line items and develop a comprehensive budget for the current academic year.
  • Historically, GPSG presents its budget for approval before the October Assembly.
  • Every two years, the GPSG Treasurer presents its finances before the IU Committee for Fee Review. This committee’s purpose is to determine which portion of mandatory student fees will fund GPSG.

GPSG Budget & Academic Support:

In recent years, GPSG has advocated to dedicate an increasingly larger percentage of the budget to graduate student academic support (which pays dividends for undergraduates in the classroom and by generating more research opportunities on campus). Even in years of necessary budget cuts, the current administration’s commitment remains strong and focused.
