The Office for Women’s Affairs (OWA) is seeking an advanced master’s or doctoral student to serve as the Coordinator of the Women in Science and the Academies Programs. The position is 50% FTE and remuneration includes a $18,000 stipend for 10 months and health insurance.
Job responsibilities include helping to develop and coordinate all activities related to the longstanding Women in the Science Program as well as to coordinate the Women in the Academy Initiatives, and serve as OWA’s representative to the Commission on Multi-cultural Initiatives and the Gender Incident Team. Coordinator is expected to work 20 hours per week, working most hours in the office, but may have some work hours outside the office.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful male or female applicant must demonstrate integrity and possess excellent writing, communication and experience in communication across gender, racial, ethnic, religious, national, and other background issues. Creativity, energy and a passion for making a positive difference are essential. Computer skills are necessary. Experience with writing grants a plus.
