The Office of the Vice President for International Affairs maintains exchange agreements that provide a variety of opportunities for Indiana University graduate students to conduct research, study, and teach at selected partner institutions abroad. Brief information about each of our programs follows. Please bring these opportunities to the attention of your students and invite them to contact my office for additional details on specific programs.
Note: Applicants may be students from any discipline, department, or campus. Each applicant must submit a proposal for a program that would constitute an integral part of a well-conceived graduate degree program at Indiana University. Unless specifically indicated, it is important that applicants demonstrate strong language skills.

A one semester position for study or research in any academic field that can be accommodated at CIESAS. CIESAS will provide room and board in a home stay situation. Free University of Berlin, Berlin, Germany
Up to four academic-year positions for graduate study or research in any academic field that can be accommodated by the Free University of Berlin. Free University will cover the costs of attending the university plus room and board. A travel stipend will be provided by the Office of the Vice President for International Affairs. Jagiellonian University, Kracow, Poland
One-semester position (fall 2012 or spring 2013) for study or research in any academic field that can be accommodated at Jagiellonian University. Jagiellonian will cover the costs of attending the university plus room and board. A travel stipend will be provided by the Office of the Vice President for International Affairs. National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Bangkok, Thailand
Academic year position for study or research in any academic field that can be accommodated by NIDA. NIDA will cover the costs of tuition and housing or a stipend sufficient to cover these costs. A one semester position for study or research in any academic field that can be accommodated at the University of Costa Rica. University of Debrecen, Debrecen, Hungary
Academic year position for study or research in any academic field that can be accommodated at the University of Debrecen. Debrecen will cover costs of attending the university plus room and board. University of Seville, Seville, Spain
Academic Year teaching appointment as a language instructor in the Department of English. Priority will be given to students with a background in TESOL. Seville will provide a salary sufficient to cover local expenses. A travel stipend will be provided by the Office of the Vice President for International Affairs.
