African American Arts Institute (AAAI) Graduate Associate Instructors, 2012-13

AAAI announces associate instructor positions for prospective and continuing full-time students seeking graduate degrees at Indiana University -Bloomington. Appointments are for the academic year August through May. Compensation includes a monthly stipend, fee remission, and health insurance benefits paid by the university.

Graduate Associate Instructor Positions:

Associate Instructor – African American Dance Company – Assist with instruction, choreography and management of classroom and performance activities; must have formal dance training and experience; previous teaching and performance experience in Black dance styles desirable.

Vocal Coach – African American Choral Ensemble – Assist with instruction, musical arrangements and management of classroom and performance activities; must have formal vocal training, ability to transcribe and arrange music, vocal part keyboard skills; previous teaching and performance experience in African American Choral genres desirable.

Vocal Coach – IU Soul Revue – Assist with instruction, musical arrangements and management of classroom and performance activities; must have formal vocal training, ability to transcribe and arrange music, vocal part keyboard skills; previous teaching and performance experience in popular music styles desirable.

Instrumental Coach – IU Soul Revue – Assist with instruction, musical arrangements and management of classroom and performance activities; must have excellent performance skills (keyboard or guitar preferred) in the range of African American popular music styles (R&B, Soul, Funk, etc.) ability to transcribe and arrange music; previous teaching experience desirable.
