(to begin Spring 2013)


Professor with a strong and established professional career with an office/studio in Sculpture Area in the School of Fine Arts seeking STUDIO ASSISTANT to assist with various tasks and organization.

–A standard stipend and health insurance will be provide with the GA position
–A minimum one-semester commitment is requested
–GA hours will be discussed and can possibly be adjusted and flexible, not to exceed 20 hours/week.
–Opportunities include: learning archive management, grant and residency application, exhibiting logistics and general operation of a professional studio

JOB DESCRIPTION (all or a selection of the following):
–Learn new archive management system to archive artwork history and inventory
–Conduct research on subject specific projects
–Format images in PhotoShop
–Write basic work descriptions and correspondence
–Perform occasional errands as needed
–Update website
–Assistance working on projects in the studio
–Assistance with installations, exhibitions, and special projects
–Occasional studio cleaning and maintenance.

–EXCELLENT Organizational Skills and detail-oriented
–EXCELLENT Time Management Skills
–EXCELLENT Research Skills
–EXCELLENT Oral and Written communication skills
–MAC and PC Proficient
–Digital Photography, Scanning and Photoshop, Website Skills
–Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint required
–Fabrication Skills in both wood and metal most helpful
–Serious interest in Contemporary Art & Environmental/Political Issues helpful
