The Training & Development Intern will work with HR Manager of the Physical Plant to evaluate the current program and curriculum for the Indiana University Apprenticeship (IUAP) Program and make recommendations for curricular changes.
Intern will review current IUAP training materials for compliance with US Dept of Labor Employment & Training Administration standards and IU requirements. Intern will then research new learning technologies that are effective and engaging. Based on research, intern will recommend and then help develop updated curriculum for all IUAP programs: Carpentry, Electric, Plumbing, Heat & Refrigeration, Sheet Metal and Masonry.
Candidates need excellent research skills and oral/written communication skills. Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment and decision making skills. Educational background in education, organizational development or human resources preferred. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, data base and presentation software, e-mail utility and PDF file use. Incumbent must be able to flex time on a daily basis to meet customers’ needs. Travel within the Bloomington Campus required.
Full to part-time summer position beginning May 6 through August 15, 2013. Schedule will be 40/hrs a week from 5/6/13 – 6/29/13, then 29 hrs/wk from 7/1/13 – 8/15/13. Wage will be $10-12/hr, depending on skill and education level.
