The Dhar India Studies Program is now inviting applications for a Graduate Assistant to work for the program during the 2017-2018 academic year.
The DISP graduate assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including promoting the program’s social media presence, designing and distributing its promotional material, helping with administrative and clerical tasks, maintaining some DISP records, helping with program communication with internal and external organizations, and also assisting with the management of the program’s academic lectures and cultural activities during the year.
Applicants should have on-going interests and expertise in some aspect of the Indian subcontinent. Knowledge of an Indian language is desired although not strictly required. Applicants should also have experience with managing webpages and social media platforms and some experience in visual design would also be helpful. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are also necessary.
The DISP graduate assistant will work for 20 hours per week, must be a PhD student who is also an ABD student, and shall be enrolled in G901.
