The IUPUI Graduate Office is seeking a self-motivated current IUPUI graduate/professional student with an interest in mentoring to serve as a graduate assistant for The Graduate Mentoring Center (GMC). The Graduate Mentoring Center serves graduate students at Indiana University Bloomington and is expanding to the IUPUI campus. The center’s programming will emphasize best practices in mentoring and mentorship for underrepresented graduate students. Responsibilities for the 15-20 hour summer appointment include working with the Graduate Office to develop surveys, resources and programming for graduate and professional students and their mentors. Key projects will include development of a needs assessment survey for mentors and mentees and facilitating town hall meetings on the topic of mentoring. Additional responsibilities may include data collection and analysis, marketing and promotions, and working with designated partners, including student organizations and culture centers. Other duties as assigned. Attention to detail and superior organization and communication skills are mandatory. Appointment begins June 1 – and ends August 8, 2017. Continuation to the fall semester will be determined based on exemplary completion of job responsibilities, quality of work product and office need.
Duration: June 1 – and ends August 8, 2017 (with option to continue into fall semester).
Compensation: $15/hour up to 20 hours/week.
