IU Auditorium and IU Musical Arts Center

Every year, especially during the winter, I take time to enjoy some of the many extraordinary events/performances occurring at either the IU Auditorium or IU Musical Arts Center. For instance, this past week, on Thursday, I attended the IU Auditorium traditional “Dennis James for Halloween Concert”. James, an IU Jacobs School of Music graduate,¬† is an internationally renowned silent film organist. The event features James playing organ during silent films at Halloween. This year’s silent film was “The Phantom of the Opera”. It was quite entertaining! This is one example of the many extraordinary opportunities that you can experience here at Bloomington, Indiana. During my three years here, I have seen performances from Yo-Yo Ma, Cleveland Orchestra, Robin Williams, Jon Stewart, Blue Man Group, as well as operas like “Faust” and “Vincent”. Visiting the IU Auditorium and/or IU Musical Arts Center is just one enriching way to take a break from our busy schedules and have some fun!
