Aside from great academics, research opportunities and a top Gender Studies doctoral program (if I do say so myself) at Indiana University, there is another place in Bloomington that has stolen my heart.
Bloomington is home to a myriad of ethnic restaurants, local eateries, and a fair number of chain favorites. A meal with colleagues, a quick bite with a friend, or even a check-in with your advisor can happen at many of Bloomington’s favorite locales. Bub’s Burgers has been just that for me.
- Celebratory lunch at Bub’s after passing my qualifying exams
- Dinner after a LONG 21-day sugar detox
- Birthday lunch with my gym buddies where I ate the “Big Ugly Burger”
It seems as if I struck gold with a renowned academic program and a top-notch burger and ice cream parlor. You can’t go wrong when your academic program and burger shop are famous (Man v Food featuring Bub’s).
This is my 5th year here in Bloomington and the only regret I have is not discovering Bub’s earlier. Explore your new city as a graduate student since it will be your home for the next couple of years. Who knows…you may find your own magical burger and ice cream parlor.
