Love nature, art, and microbrews?

Nature, art, and microbrews are just a few minutes away in Nashville, IN.  This quaint little town is located about 15-20 minutes west of Bloomington in Brown County.  I especially love going to Nashville, IN during the summer time when the trees are green, and it is just hot enough to get an ice cream from Miller’s.

I usually like to peruse the shops that sell unique art or trinkets for the home.

If I am looking for a bite to eat, I usually stop at the Big Woods Brewery where they serve their craft beers and a hearty lunch.  My favorite beer is their Mocha Expresso beer–and yes, it tastes like coffee in a beer!  My favorite dish to get there is the Big Woods Pulled BBQ Pork nachos and their half-pound burgers. If you haven’t started drooling yet, check out their menu: http://www.bigwoodsbeer.com/menu/

After a big lunch at Big Woods, I usually like to drive to Brown County State Park where there are great hiking trails and mountain biking trails.

So, when I need an escape, I take the scenic drive west of Bloomington to Brown County.
