What degree are you working toward?
I am currently a second year candidate seeking a Master of Arts in African American and African Diaspora Studies (AAADS).

Why did you choose graduate school at IU Bloomington?
IUB was the best choice as I wanted an environment that was supportive, resourceful, provided opportunities for growth, and mentorship.

What’s been your favorite academic accomplishment since you’ve been here?
The highlight of my graduate academic journey comes in two parts. First, winning the 2016 Martin Luther King, Jr. Building Bridges Award for the IU Bloomington campus/city and studying abroad in Israel while also conducting research on peace, conflict, trauma, and comparative justice/equality.

What do you enjoy most about life in Bloomington?
Choosing an ideal university is extremely important as well as the college town you choose. Bloomington has a small town feel with big city opportunities. I enjoy being able to utilize the whole town as resource, have amazing food options, and make trips to the many state parks and lakes that surround Bloomington!
