Academic Area:
School Psychology PhD, School of Education

Hometown:
Fairbanks, Alaska

Undergraduate Institution:
Yale University

Research Interests:
I am interested in completing my dissertation on a topic related to Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) in schools and umbrella organizations that serve LGBTQ youth across multiple schools.  In addition to this, my work as a Graduate Assistant for the IU School of Education gives me the opportunity to study and evaluate Culturally Responsive Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (CR-PBIS) in schools.

The Best Thing About Being a Graduate Student at IUB:
The opportunity to interact with a great community!  Bloomington is full of service-minded people and programming.  As a result, much of my learning takes place outside of the classroom.

Insider tip about living in Bloomington:
Living here can be super affordable.  Check out the great thrift stores/ antique malls/ IU OneStart classifieds!  I’ve purchased everything from my bookshelves to my car this way!
