Article. I. Offices
Section. I. President
The President, who must be a student, shall convene and preside over all meetings of BOARD and all callout meetings. The President shall chair the Policy Affairs Committee and serve on the Executive Team. The President shall attend all MONROE Board meetings. The President shall have the power of calling for and disbanding ad-hoc committees of HABITAT. The President shall have the exclusive power to speak in an official capacity for HABITAT. The President shall have the power of calling for and disbanding adhoc committees. The President shall have the option to serve as an ex-officio member of any committee of HABITAT.
Section. II. Vice President Funding
The Vice President Funding shall assume the duties and responsibilities of the President in the event of the President’s absence. The Vice President Funding shall succeed to the office of President in the event of a vacancy in that office. The Vice President Funding shall act as the University-recognized treasurer of HABITAT and serve on the Executive Team. The Vice President Funding shall oversee the expenditures made by each committee, ensuring their fiduciary soundness. The Vice President Funding shall chair the Funding Committee. The Vice President Funding is charged with the solicitation of all grants and sponsorships for HABITAT. The Vice President Funding shall be responsible for evaluating the performance of each committee and shall report this assessment to the President on a regular basis.
Section. III. Vice President Membership
The Vice President Membership shall preside over meetings of BOARD in the absence of the President and Vice President Funding. The Vice President Membership shall chair the Membership Committee. The Vice President Membership shall act as the secretary of the organization and serve on the Executive Team. In acting as secretary, the Vice President Membership shall be responsible for the recording and distribution of the minutes of BOARD meetings. The Vice President Membership shall be responsible for evaluating the recruitment and retention efforts of each committee and shall report this assessment to the President on a regular basis.
Section. IV.
The Chapter Development Director shall develop events to raise awareness and recognition of the organization, both the Indiana University chapter and internationally. The Chapter Development Director shall facilitate chapter unity.
Section. V.
The Major Events Director shall plan, organize, and execute events designed to raise funds to sustain the chapter and support the organization.
Section. VI.
The Event Publicity Director shall publicize events organized by the chapter, design and distribute required materials, and recruit volunteers needed for these events.
Section. VII.
The Chapter Publicity Director shall generally promote the organization and its mission, and recruit members through these means.
Section. VIII.
The Volunteer Operations Director shall serve as a liaison between HABITAT and MONROE to coordinate student volunteer services to worksite, Restore, and any other volunteer opportunities. The Volunteer Operations Director shall be required to become a MONROE crew leader on-site, and to recruit additional MONROE crew leaders.
Section. IX.
The Webmaster shall reliably and quickly make information and media available on the chapter’s website as it is provided by fellow Directors.
Article. II. Time Requirements
Section. I. Meetings
Each Director shall be required to attend weekly meetings of BOARD and all call-out meetings.
Each committee Director shall be required to facilitate ONE committee meeting per week.
Each Executive Director shall be required to facilitate ONE standing committee meeting per week.
The Executive Team shall meet once per week.
Section. II. Office Hours
Each Director shall be required to maintain two (2) office hours per week.
Section. III. Removal of Directors from Office
Any Director is subject to removal from BOARD by a 3/4 vote at a regularly convened meeting of BOARD.
