The Rake-a-Thon is IU Habitat for Humanity’s annual fundraiser which takes place at the beginning of the Holiday Season. There’s no better way to welcome the season than to volunteer for the Rake-a-Thon, which involves raking the lawns of homeowners in the surrounding Bloomington and Monroe County Community. Homeowners make monetary donations as a result of having their lawns raked by hard-working and energetic volunteers like you!
This year the Rake-a-Thon is going to have a major overhaul. Instead of sending volunteers to homeowners who register to have their yards raked as we have done in previous years, now we will be sending groups to a few of the major neighborhoods around town to go door to door. This should greatly increase efficiency, and we are looking forward to one of the best Rake-a-Thons ever!
The Rake-a-Thon will be on the weekend of October 15th and 16th, and
on the weekend of October 22nd and 23rd. You can volunteer for the
morning shift of 8am until 12 pm, the afternoon shift of 1pm until
5pm, or both! Lunch will be served between the two shifts.
If you are interested in volunteering you can sign up individually or as a group if you want to work with your friends. E-mail
Meghann Horton at meehorto@indiana.edu for more information.
If you are a homeowner and you are interested in having us rake your
yard, please e-mail Meghann at the above address.
