This week’s program 04-40: The “DeVitry” Code / Trefoil / New Releases

PROMO:
On Harmonia this week: inspired by Dan Brown’s novel “The Da Vinci Code”, we’ll
take a look at number and symbolism in the medieval music of Philippe de
Vitry. Also, members of the group Trefoil talk about their premiere recording
of medieval Italian laude spitiuali, and we’ll listen to two recent releases:
early American hymnody from Anonymous 4’s “American Angels” CD, and 17th
century French music for lute by Nicolas Vallet, from a harmonia mundi CD by
Paul O’Dette.
