Great Musicians Series: Han Tol
Dutch recorder virtuoso Han Tol in is our studios this week where he chats about his teaching philosophy, American recorder enthusiasts, and one of his more memorable recordings as a director. We'll hear the fruits of that experience as we highlight an all-Telemann CD with the Balthasar-Neumann-Ensemble. A dynamic new release of music by François Couperin will also be heard.

Leonardo Vinci… Neapolitan composer
Have you ever heard Leonardo Vinci's music? Not the Renaissance painter, but the late-Baroque composer known for his comic operas. This week on Harmonia we'll explore his music with performances by the Capella della Pietà de'Turchini. A new release by the Academy of Ancient Music will also be heard.

Acis, Galatea, and Polyphemus
The tale of Acis and Galatea was an ideal story for setting to music. Its cast of characters and surprise ending made it a favorite of opera composers. This week on Harmonia we'll sample versions by Lully, Literes, Handel, and Naumann, as well as a new release of Buxtehude's organ music.

Great Musicians Series: Eric Hoeprich
Our Great Musicians Series continues this week on Harmonia with early clarinetist Eric Hoeprich. He was in our studios to talk about his ensemble Nachtmusique and his recently published history of the clarinet. Nachtmusique's recordings will be featured as well as a new release by harpsichordist Bradley Brookshire.
