Participants

Participants in the Seventh USA International Harp Competition may choose to stay in a student dormitory, with a host family, or in a hotel or motel at their own cost.

Dormitory accommodation

Participants will be accommodated in one of the dormitories on the campus of Indiana University (to be selected in January 2007). Generally, single and double rooms are available, but do not have private bathrooms. Shared bathrooms are located at the end of the hall, with separate bathrooms for men and women. Please note: the Competition only pays for accommodations in the dorms for the First Stage and for those advancing to further stages. If participants who do not advance to a further stage wish to stay in the dorm, they must pay for each extra night spent in the dorm. In 2004, the price was $32.00 per person + 11% tax for a single room and $25 per person + 11% tax for a double room, and is expected to increase by 2007.

Host Families

Participants may chose to stay with a host family in Bloomington at no charge.

Hotels/Motels

Participants may choose to stay in a hotel/motel at their own cost. See below for more information.

Visitors

The Competition will reserve blocks of rooms at several nearby hotels, some at discounted rates.
