Suicide Education/Prevention

Large scale research studies tell us that 1 in 10 college students seriously contemplate suicide each year.  Prior to attempting suicide at least 70% give some sign to a friend, instructor or family member.  For more information about how to seek help for yourself or suggestions for responding to someone who is talking about or hinting at suicide, read this.

We also want you to know that CAPS has crisis walk in services weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and telephone consultation between 8:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.  After hours crises need to be referred to the Emergency Department of Bloomington Hospital.

If the person is in immediate danger, call 911.
