The laboratory offers a wide range of medical and diagnostic laboratory services. We offer a rapid turnaround on most tests and often the patient can wait for results. A referral from a physician is required for all lab tests with the exception of blood type and premarital blood tests. Orders from physicians outside of the Health Center are accepted.

The IUHC Laboratory Offers the Patient:
Trained professional staff. All of our testing personnel have advanced degrees in Medical Technology with many years of experience in performing laboratory analysis. Our laboratory assistants have a combined total of 20+ years of phlebotomy experience. Our highly trained staff is available to answer any of your laboratory related questions.
Confidential HIV testing. The IUHC is the only local location where counseling and testing are performed on-site. It takes about a week to get results for an HIV test.
Accreditation by COLA, a premier accreditation organization, and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). We adhere to strict standards of quality and are inspected bi-annually by these organizations.
State-of-the-art testing for common STD's such as Chlamydia. Chlamydia infection is often asymptomatic and can go undetected. This infection, if left untreated, can lead to long term problems such as Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and infertility. The test used in our lab is extremely sensitive and can detect infection very early. Please make an appointment with an IUHC clinician by calling 855-7688 if you wish to be tested for Chlamydia or other STD's.
