Physician Assistants
At IU Health Center, you may be treated by a physician assistant. Physician assistants are trained and licensed to practice medicine under the supervision of a physician. Generally, physician assistants have a two-year master's degree in health science or a related field. Physician assistants can diagnose and treat chronic or acute illnesses, prescribe medications, order lab tests, and assist in minor surgeries.
