HGSA E-Mail Listserv (HGSA@LISTSERV.INDIANA.EDU):


The HGSA Technology Coordinator is the official system administrator for this listserv.


Membership in this listserv is limited to current graduate students; graduate alumni or former graduate students who request continued membership; the Graduate Secretary and Graduate Admissions Secretary; the Director of Graduate Studies; and the History Department Chair (if he or she requests membership). Despite these guidelines, students should not assume messages on this listserv are private or will remain within the group.

 

As an anti-spam measure, this listserv accepts e-mail only from @indiana.edu accounts. Students using Imail, Umail, or other e-mail accounts that do not register as @indiana.edu will need to have their messages approved by the system administrator.

 

Use of this listserv is restricted to official HGSA business, announcements, and all-graduate student mailings by faculty or staff. Students should not use this listserv for personal communications or discussions or to address controversial issues.

 

Profane, harassing, discriminatory, intimidating, or otherwise inappropriate comments are banned from this listserv. Infractions for inappropriate posts will result in a warning from the system administrator for the first two offenses and a notification of removal for the third. Infractions will be counted over one semester. All participation in this listserv is also subject to Indiana University’s “Computer Users’ Privileges and Responsibilities” (http://www.iun.edu/~itnw/policy/user-responsibilities.shtml).

 

Students who are uncertain as to whether a post is appropriate for the listserv, or who have questions or concerns about something that has been posted, should contact the system administrator via e-mail (histgrad@indiana.edu). The administrator will respond to all messages within two (2) business days and will attempt to resolve the situation. Students may also contact the HGSA Co-Coordinators with more serious concerns.
