Follow the instructions on this page for some typical actions on the HistorySOTL Blog.

Register

On the right, toward the top, you will see a login window.  There is a register link that will allow you to make a unique username, password, and provide some information about yourself.   The amount of information you want to leave about yourself is up to you, of course.  HistorySOTL does not distribute its email list to anyone, and its information is safely protected by the robust IT sources of Indiana University.

Edit Your Settings

You must be logged on to edit your personal settings.   Once logged on, in the upper right corner you will find a link for “profile.”  This link will take you to a page where you can adjust information about yourself and change your password.

Comment on a Post

You must be logged on to post a comment.  Once logged on, browse to the comment (which can be located at Home if it is a relatively recent comment, or can be found via the drop-down menu “Previous Posts” if it is an older post) and click on the comment link.  All comments take a short time to appear, as they must be approved by the web moderator (to eliminate spam, not to edit your entry).

Leave a Post

You must be logged on to create a post.  Once logged on, click on the “Dashboard” link on the upper right.  This will take you to the WordPress Dashboard, a location with all sorts of interesting information.  On the left side you will find a link for Posts, and can author your comments via the link there.   All posts take a short time to appear, as they must be approved by the web moderator (to eliminate spam, not to edit your entry).
