Draw Your Family
One way to see how we feel about family is to draw a picture of that view. In this
exercise, that is what we will do.
- Use a clean piece of paper, or some other medium.
- Draw whatever you want to depict "family."
- It is up to you to decide what that term means and how you will represent
whatever that is (e.g., someone may draw a house, while someone else may
do a collage of their own family. Someone else might be more abstract
and depict various emotional states).
- On the back of your project (or attached to it), write out what the images
you've depicted mean to you. Why did you choose the medium you did?
Why did you depict family the way you did?
- In class, you will show and discuss your picture (or other depiction) with
others in your small group. A small number of volunteers will also describe
their work to the class.
This assignment will be assigned and discussed at the end of the "Gender" class and will be due in the "Beliefs" class.
