The Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction
The Kinsey Institute is an international center for the interdisciplinary study of sex, gender, and reproduction. It includes the nation's foremost library and archives on the history of gender and sexuality. The collections come from six continents and span centuries of history. They include more than 90,000 books, articles, pamphlets and magazines; 10,000 films and videos; 75,000 photographs, thousands of original works of art, and a rich array of manuscript collections, clipping files, correspondence, and organizational records.
The Oral History Research Center
Since 1968, the center has collected over 1,600 recorded interviews on topics ranging from the history of Indiana communities to the evolution of American philanthropy. The center's archive is available to scholars, students, and others interested in oral history research. An annotated list of projects in the OHRC archive is available.
The Mathers Museum of World Cultures
The William Hammond Mathers Museum is Indiana University's museum of world cultures. Through its collections, exhibits, and programs, the Museum is dedicated to preserving and promoting knowledge of the world's cultures. In all of its activities, the Museum strives to further its audiences' understanding of both the diversity of the world's specific cultures and the underlying unity of cultures as a human phenomenon.
The Lilly Library
The Lilly Library is the principal rare books, manuscript, and special collections repository of Indiana University, serving as a resource for scholars throughout the world as well as a center of cultural enrichment. The Library is open to anyone interested in its collections. The Lilly houses a particularly rich collection of early printed medical books, the gift of J.K. Lilly.
The Ruth Lilly Medical Library
The Library collection focuses on authoritative literature in biomedical research and clinical practice. Established in 1908, the Ruth Lilly Medical Library contains more than 245,000 volumes, with current subscriptions to approximately 1900 journals.
