We began with introductions, as we were joined by three students from Ivy Tech Community College. Students from Ivy Tech are interested in beginning a student chapter and attended to ask for advise and suggestions. The students were well received and both groups expessed interest in collaborating on various projects. The HRA-IU membership offered their help and support to Ivy Tech in starting their new chapter.

A motion to discuss the board placements for the remaining spring semester. The following are intersting in the positions as stated. All have submitted a written statement as to the why they want to be appointed to the position. They are prepared to address the chapter during our next meeting. Members were encouraged to visit the HRA-IU website for a list of board positions. Prof. Hughes will work with Ellizabeth Peck to obtain position job descriptions and make them available to the chapter for review. Additional discussion regarding elected position for the 2013/2014 academic year. Two of the members will be not be on campus for the fall 2013 semester, one will be in London and one in DC. However, both expesssed an interest in being part of the board and felt they could fulfill their responsiblities as board members. The membership discussed the request and both students were encouraged to run for the positions they were interested. They were advised when addressing the membership they needed to provide evidence as to how they will be able to fulfill their role on the board off campus. Elections for the 2013/2014 academc board will be held on March 22, those running for a position will be asked to speak to the membership prior to elections.

The final discussion was how to get the word out university wide about the HRA-IU student chapter. Currently the largest minor on campus is the SPEA HR minor. Members are excited about the start of the new HR courses being offered this fall and the addition of the HR major.
Flyers will be produced and distributed throughout the campus informing students of both the chapter and new HR courses being offered. The goal is to increase membership prior to the March 22 election.

Action Items:

Now that we have had two meetings and a list has been compiled of chapter projects it is time to move forward with organization and prioritizing.
• The first project to begin planning, orgainzing and identifying committees will be for the First Annual HRA-IU Academic Competition. The goal is to host the event in October 13, inviting schools from the Big 10 Conference. Professor Hughes has contacted the SCIHRA local chapter who has agreed to assist and provide some sponsorship for this event. Committees will be formed to gain additional sponsors and work together to plan the event, making the October 2013 deadline.
• Prof. Hughes is in the process of finalizing field trips to the City of Bloomington and Cook Inc. The visits will be on a Friday. As soon as the dates are set she will notify the newly appointed President who will notify the chapter members.
• Once a board has been appointed a motion will be made to determine the fund raising event for the chapter.
• Continued organization and development of projects as discussed above.
