Search The Comprehensive Bibliography of the Commons
How the Search Works
-
Searches are case-insensitive. CPR and cpr are the same.
-
For a single word search, type the word in the appropriate field and
click/select the "Start Search" button.
-
For a multiple word search, type the words in the appropriate field(s)
and click/select the "Start Search" button. The default search mode is
"AND". If an "OR" search is desired, select ANY of these words (OR).
-
Phrase search is supported. Put your search terms in double quotes.
For example, a search for "social justice" (with the double quotes)
will return records containing the two words in that exact order only.
-
Right truncation is possible. The truncation symbol is *. For example,
"victor*" will find "victor", "vitory", "victoria", "victorian", etc.
Truncation can be used for both single and multiple word searches.
- Most of the common words, such as articles, prepositions, numbers,
are not searched. Here is the list of all the
stopwords
- Punctuations, such as the apostrophe, should not be included. For
example, use "prisoners dilemma" instead of "prisoner's dilemma". When
in doubt, always try truncation.
-
Search results are sorted alphabetically by author's last name.
