The Visa Waiver Pilot Program (VWPP) allows nationals of 29 countries to visit the U.S. for pleasure or business without a visa stamp, saving time, money, and the inconvenience of a visit to the U.S. Consulate abroad.
The 29 participating countries are: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Uruguay.
- Visitors in Business or Tourist Status-B-1, B-2, WB, WT
If you are not a citizen of one of the above countries or Canada, you need to obtain an entry visa from a United States Embassy or Consulate, to attend the conference. The conference organizers will send you a formal letter of acceptance if your proposal is accepted for presentation at the conference. We can also provide you with a personal letter of invitation should this be required to obtain funding or the visa to enter United States. If you need a personal invitation letter, indicate this in your registration form.
- Foreign Currency Exchange
Bloomington banks and shops do not provide currency exchange services on a routine basis. We recommend that you obtain sufficient US currency before your departure or from one of the currency exchanges services located in major ports of entry airports such as New York or Chicago. Practically all shops, hotels (including the IMU), and restaurants accept major credit cards.
