The Fulbright Program, sponsored by the State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, provides merit-based grants for international educational exchange. Each year more than 1,800 Foreign Fulbright Fellows join academic programs around the United States. Some of these 1800 scholars are a part of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program known as the Fulbright FLTA Program. These FLTAs will be placed in teaching assistantships representing over 30 languages at various universities.
