Academic Intern (2017-2018)


The Center for the Study of Global Change is looking to hire an undergraduate junior or senior eligible for federal work study for the 2017/18 academic year.


This academic internship provides comprehensive experience in general program administration, coordination of special projects, assessment, and the outreach activities of international education. The interns will report to the Assistant Director of the Center for the Study of Global Change and will assist on a variety of the Global Center’s projects, all aimed at the deeper internationalization of Indiana University and beyond. Tasks will include, but are not limited to, the coordination and hands-on assistance of international conferences, student symposia, and outreach; data collection, research, and compilation for assessment and electronic resources; and general support for outreach, communications, and programming. In addition to broader assistance, each intern may also be assigned to a particular project or initiative each semester, with which s/he will provide creative assistance and learn about its intricacies and administration.  


The ideal candidate is a responsible junior or senior with an interest in international issues and solid organizational skills, who can work independently and in a group. Students with cross-cultural understanding, international experience, foreign language abilities, and computer and database skills are preferred.
