The 2017 Indiana University Summer Language Workshop is currently accepting applications for intensive beginning study of Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian (BCS), Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian, and Lithuanian.

Courses will be held from June 5-July 28, 2017 on the Bloomington campus.

Students complete the equivalent of one year of academic instruction in the program and earn 6-8 credits, which can be transferred to other institutions. The proficiency-based language curriculum features 20 contact hours weekly and a rich co-curricular program, including language tables, films, cooking demonstrations, and lectures with area studies specialists.

All participants pay in-state tuition rates for Summer Language Workshop courses. Program participants have access to university libraries, recreational facilities, and public transit. On-campus housing is available.

Competitive Title VIII funding is available to qualified U.S. graduate students, area specialists, scholars, and other professionals. Title VIII funding applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until April 20, 2017. FLAS funding is available to qualified graduate students. The FLAS application is expected to re-open for another round of applications in mid-March.
