Are you interested in how technology can promote second language learning?

The course surveys the use of the following technologies in second language learning and teaching:

-         Computer-mediated Communication Tools (e.g., Skype)

The Department of Central Eurasian Studies in the School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington seeks to fill a non-tenure track, full-time lecturer position in Turkish language instruction beginning August 1, 2017. Initial contract will be renewable for each year, after annual review by faculty, for three years. PhD or ABD preferred, and MA required, in Turkish language and literature, Turkish studies, Central Eurasian/Inner Asian studies, or related field.

I’m pleased to announce this year’s competition for the University Graduate School John H. Edwards Fellowship. This award provides two stipends of approximately $25,000 each for graduate students at Indiana University in the academic year 2017-18 and is one of the University’s most prestigious academic awards.

The lecture, Producing Modern Muslims, Everyday Ethics in Colonial India will be held at The Global and International Studies Building Rm 2067.

MPhil in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (Specialization: Muslim-Jewish Relations)


• Are you interested in applying for the MPhil in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (Specialisation: Muslim-Jewish Relations) at the University of Cambridge in the academic year 2017-18?
• Do you want to approach Muslim-Jewish relations from historical, anthropological and linguistics perspectives?

Funding for U.S. graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Boren Fellows represent a vital pool of highly motivated individuals who wish to work in the federal national security arena. In exchange for funding, Boren Fellows commit to working in the federal government for at least one year after graduation.

Note: For both the Dissertation Completion and the Dissertation Research Fellowships your Nomication to Candidacy paperwork MUST be fully approved. This can take several weeks therefore the College Graduate Office recommends submitted the paperwork 6-8 weeks in advanced.
