Meet the IAUNRC Visiting Scholars
Spring 2008
Timea Baltay is a doctoral student at Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest, Hungary. Ms. Baltay received an L.D. from Pázmány Péter Catholic University in 2001 and an LL.M. degree in International Business Law from the Central European University in Budapest in 2003. Ms. Baltay is currently working on a comparative study of arbitral liability.
Otgon Borjigin is a return visitor from the Lanzhou University Institute of Dunhuang Studies. Mr. Borjigin teaches Mongolian Historical Documents at Northwest University for Nationalities in Lanzhou. He holds fellowship funding from the American Council of Learned Societies.
Zakir Chotaev is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of International Relations at the International University of Kyrgyzstan. He received his Ph.D. in International Relations from Ankara State University’s Institute for Social Sciences, and a law degree from the Academy of Law in Bishkek. Dr. Chotaev specializes in use-of-force policies in the post-Soviet territories and their assessment in international law.
Aida Huseynova is an Associate Professor in the Department of Music History at the Baku Music Academy. She received her Ph.D. in Musicology from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. Dr. Huseynova is returning to IU after serving as a visiting scholar here in 2000 and 2001-2002.
Bakhtiyor Indibaev is an Instructor in the Department of International Relations at the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies. He received a Master’s degree in Linguistics from the Uzbek State University of World Languages in 2003. His scholarly interests include American studies, the history and politics of consumer society, American literature, and methods in American psychology.
Anna Kalinina is a Fulbright Scholar from Russia. She is currently researching the historiography of Soviet policy in Xinjiang from 1918-1949. She also studies national movements and the development of ethnic identity in Xinjiang.
Iryna Lytvynchuk is an Associate Professor of Psychology (Docent) at the Crimean Republic Institute of Post-diploma Pedagogical Education. She is also an Associate Professor of Psychology (Docent), in the Chair of Methods for Teaching Philological Disciplines at the Taurida National V.I. Vernadsky University.
Margarita Madanova is a Senior Scientific Researcher in the Department of World Literature and International Relations at the Institute of Literature and Art in Kazakhstan. In her current research Dr. Madanova is collecting and studying American sources related to the history of Kazakh literature, culture and national identity.
Kassym Maulenov is a Professor in the Chair of Philosophy and Law at the Kazak-British Technical University. He is also a member of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s working group on law project preparation. At IU Dr. Maulenov is researching legal regulation in the US foreign investment sphere.
Marina Sidorova is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University’s School of International Relations. Ms. Sidorova received a degree in Linguistics from the Kyrgyz National Pedagogy University in Kyrgyzstan in 2003. She specializes in technologies and methods of foreign language teaching, teaching foreign languages in a multicultural environment, and curriculum and program design.
