Books and Other Loanable Resources
The IAUNRC maintains a collection of books, videos, traditional clothing, and other resources that may be loaned for non-commercial use to instructors and students of non-profit educational institutions and to individuals for private use.
Books include both English language materials discussing the regions and peoples covered by the IAUNRC, and selections of foreign language literature such as our collection of Kazakh fairy tales. Additionally, there are several illustrated books depicting art and other aspects of the cultural heritage of our region.
The IAUNRC video collection features award-winning films from our regions of focus, many with English subtitles, as well as English language documentaries and feature films addressing aspects of our region, such as traditional cooking, Islam, environmental issues, etc.
Traditional clothing and other artifacts are some of the most popular items in our collection. We have over 30 hats in our collection representing such diverse peoples as Mongolians, Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Uyghurs and more.
