IU: Where change happens.

IU’s partnership with Indiana Black Expo, Inc. (IBE) includes year-round initiatives aimed at getting more young African Americans to attend college, programs that provide information and incentives to prospective college students, and participation in IBE’s Summer Celebration.

Indiana University has long participated in the Summer Celebration, which each July draws more than 300,000 visitors to the week-long event at the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome in Indianapolis. In 2005, all eight IU campuses got involved, and now each has a presence at the summer exposition.

In addition to the IU exhibition (booth SZ28) and “IU Day,” this year’s events include:

  • I Am IU Extravaganza!  July 16, 2009 from 6–8:30 p.m. in the Convention Center rooms 103 and 104.  RSVPs required.
  • Alumni Reception, July 18, 2009 from 6–9 p.m. in the Indiana Convention Center. RSVP online.
