Indiana University at Black Expo

Students celebrate graduation at Indiana University Northwest in May, 2010. IU: Where change happens.

IU’s partnership with Indiana Black Expo, Inc. (IBE) includes year-round initiatives aimed at getting more young African Americans to attend college, programs that provide information and incentives to prospective college students, and participation in IBE’s Summer Celebration.

Indiana University has long participated in the Summer Celebration, which each July draws more than 300,000 visitors to the week-long event at the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome in Indianapolis. In 2005, all eight IU campuses got involved, and now each has a presence at the summer exposition.

In addition to the IU exhibition and “IU Day,” this year’s events include:

  • I Am IU Ice Cream Social!  July 21, 2012, from 1–3 p.m. in the Indiana Convention Center Room 109.
  • Alumni Jazz Brunch, July 21, 2012, from 10:30–1 p.m. in the Indiana Convention Center Room 102.
