ICORE:

  • Serves to broaden the Kelley student before they go on to become specialists dealing only with a single component of business

  • Considers business as a whole and from a very diverse set of perspectives

  • Helps students to better choose a field of concentration and to also better understand the function of their chosen field in the overall scheme of business
  • Student Results

I-Core is designed to provide students with social and professional experiences that will help them better handle the business working environment.

The I-Core program can be thought of as the second of three stages of education that the typical undergraduate student progresses through. During their first four semesters, the students fulfill some general education requirements and complete a set of skill building prerequisites in accounting, economics, math, statistics, writing, computers and technology. This is then followed by the I -Core (12 credit hours consisting of M370-marketing,F370- finance, P370-operations, J370- strategic management) semester, after which the students focus heavily in the major field of their choice.

I-Core is the intermediate stage. It is the stage in which:
    1) Basic skills from the prerequisites are applied and strengthened through integration
    2) Aset of core managerial skills and a strong sense of the corporation as a whole are developed
    3) Students are academically and professionally pushed to reach new levels of maturity and competence that will allow them to gain the maximum benefit from studies in their chosen field of concentration.

The I-Core graduate is in a substantially better position to mature into a well-rounded professional with a strong grasp of certain advanced business concepts in their area of expertise
