Important information:
The teacher licensing program In Indiana is going through a period of change affecting all the thirty-two teacher education programs in the state. The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) has issued a deadline of June 30th, 2006 for the completion of all courses that meet the requirements of minor and endorsement areas that could be added to existing licenses under Rules 46/47. After the 2006 deadline, rules 2002 apply and minors and endorsements will no longer be recognized. At that time, the IDOE will move toward the option of dual certification. For teachers seeking ESL/ENL certification, this means that after June 2006, they can only seek certification in ESL after they've been certified in a primary content area and grade level.
