Karen Hallett and John Rupp, Visiting Scholars to China
Karen Hallett and John Rupp (Indiana Geological Survey) visited China in October and November as guests of Zhejiang University and PetroChina Research Institute. While there, they presented to a secondary teachers' professional development conference, faculty and students in Education and Geology, and toured several secondary and primary schools. This visit reunited Karen with Professors Chu and Sheng, who were visiting scholars at the IU School of Education in 2002. Progress was made to strengthen the relationship between Zhejiang and Indiana University, and there is hope for a larger school-wide project to emerge from the collaboration. Karen and John toured Hangzhou, Zhoushan, Beijing, Xi'an, and Wuzhen.
