“PASSION with Tropes-Transferring the Digital Technology Projects of Fellow Artists onto a New Template”
Audio Recording of Presentation
PASSION with Tropes, a large-scale oratorio by IU composer Don Freund served as the canvas onto which digital technologies and applications developed by fellow artists Paul Brunner, Margaret Dolinsky, Robert Shakespeare, Elizabeth Shea, Susanne Schwibs and Ed Dambik were integrated organically towards a specific rhetoric. This presentation by producer/music director Carmen-Helena Téllez and digital artist/production designer Margaret Dolinsky discusses the challenges of creating a new interdisciplinary work in which previously deployed digital technologies and artistic methodologies are tested for their versatility, adaptability and variable expression.
