Stereo Shutter Glasses

Each person in the CAVE wears a pair of special glasses called stereo shutter glasses. The glasses are battery powered and filter the image so that one eye sees the screen at a time. But the time difference is not noticeable because each shutter closes 48 times per second.
The person who actually controls direction of travel and other spatial aspects wears a special pair of glasses and has a wand to "move" around. These glasses are connected to the ceiling by a wire and are continuously tracked by an electromagnetic field that emanates from the top of the CAVE to synchronize the vision of the glasses.
