First, the University of Southern Indiana’s 3rd Annual Mid-America Institute on Aging held in Evansville, IN is scheduled for August.
3rd ANNUAL MID-AMERICA INSTITUTE ON AGING (MAIA)
The Mid-America Institute on Aging is a two day multi-disciplinary gerontology conference with specialized topics for nurses, social workers, older adults, lay persons, and professionals working in the field of gerontology. National and local speakers will provide practical tools and ground-breaking information related to successful aging and gerontology. The Institute, co-sponsored by the Southwestern Indiana Regional Council on Aging (SWIRCA), will feature national and local speakers, providing practical tools and ground-breaking information related to successful aging and gerontology. Topics featured include brain health/fitness, community resources, yoga, tai chi, incontinence, guardianship, naturally occurring retirement communities, dental health, Medicare and Medicaid, dietary supplements, and discharge planning.
- Date & Time: Wednesday & Thursday, August 18 & 19, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Location: University Center, University of Southern Indiana
- Registration Fee: $140 for both days; $75 for one day only; $50 for both days and $25 for one day for retirees and full time students, if registering by August 4. Thereafter, $160 for both

Second, USI will be present at AGS (American Geriatrics Society) in Florida in May presenting results from a Bladder Ultrasound Study (ISDH funded study).
